At CET, we regularly invite leading global experts to share their knowledge and experience. Recently, our team had an intensive training session with Arsen Avetisov Co-founder of the International Coaching Academy and Board Member of the Assocation of Narrative Intelligence
What is Narrative Intelligence?
Narrative intelligence is the ability to understand, create, and interpret stories, to grasp the motivations of characters and the subtext of narratives. Ultimately, it plays an important role in how we make sense of the world around us. Developing narrative intelligence contributes to the formation of a person’s value system, makes the process of knowledge transmission more effective and memorable, and supports behavior that is consistent and goal-oriented.
Learning Through Stories – with LEGO® Education
Our team explored the impact of the LEGO® Education system on the development of narrative intelligence. We discussed how sets like Spike, StoryTales, BrickQ Motion, Simple Machines, and others offer unique opportunities for children to create their own stories using various characters and tasks. Once again, we highlighted how play helps children to:
- Explore the structure of stories (beginning, middle, end)
- Explore cause and effect
- Develop language and storytelling skills
- Understand concepts through imagination and play
Sharing Our Experience
Beyond professional development, these sessions were another great opportunity to reflect on how, as a team and as a parent community, we can continue to grow together and remain at the forefront of education.
Moving forward, CET remains committed to its important mission of making global expert knowledge more accessible to our community—because every student, teacher, and parent is a co-author of the future we are building together today.
